Blackmore Vale

We are a branch of the Embroiderers' Guild in Dorset and we have a large number of members interested in all types of embroidery, sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet and textile art. We have a bi-annual exhibition in conjunction with Dorset Arts Week. This year is our 25th Anniversary. We hope you enjoy looking at our work and activities during our meetings and workshops.

Blackmore Vale at the Sherborne Castle Country Fair

These are our two stands at the Sherborne Castle Country Fair. It was so cold but at least it remained dry and the public poured in from around 9.30am! Sales were made, enquiries about the branch were numerous and compliments were gratefully received.  We were promoting the branch and also publicising the upcoming meeting for the new Young Embroiderers group in Yeovil.

We are Embroiderers and Proud of it!!

This is the new page for Blackmore Vale Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild and is being established because many of the members cannot access the Facebook page.  On Saturday 25 May we met for three workshops:
Darn It!
Paint, Scrunch & Stitch
Altered Textiles
These workshops were very well attended and everyone enjoyed a day of stitching and chatting.
Darning on potato sack hessian:

Painted brown paper, bonded to felt, markel sticks and chiffon.

Painted upholstery fabric which alters the pattern and texture ready for stitch!
