We are a branch of the Embroiderers' Guild in Dorset and we have a large number of members interested in all types of embroidery, sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet and textile art. We have a bi-annual exhibition in conjunction with Dorset Arts Week. This year is our 25th Anniversary. We hope you enjoy looking at our work and activities during our meetings and workshops.

Printing for Stitch - with Lydie Gardner - 2012

Such a fun workshop which produced so many pieces of work - apologies to the members whose work has been missed out - nothing more to say except enjoy the potential for beautiful stitched pieces!

Retrospective - September 2012 - Weekend Workshop - Winter Landscapes

WINTER LANDSCAPES

Our branch pride ourselves with the fact that we run very successful and well attended weekend workshops. In September 2012 we had the pleasure of spending the time with Llinos Spriggs and this time we worked on winter landscapes. With her usual bubbly approach, Llinos encouraged us to start small and to work with only white or cream. We were to imagine a snowy or frosty garden.

All of these were worked in hand stitching of various sorts. By the end of the day, Llinos had spoken to us all about the effects which could be achieved by layering up sheers. Early on Sunday, the sewing machines were racing away - but some of us stuck with hand stitching. A most enjoyable weekend and we are all waiting in great anticipation of our next weekend this September with Angie Hughes.
